Mainland Eagles Alumni Update 31/01/24

Our Mainland Eagles alumni updates are a recap showcasing and celebrating notable performances of our alumni all-around the world.

Maia Jones (2023) made the most of her start against Santa Clara and exploded for a career-high 22 pts which included 4 triples. 

In her 100th college basketball game for the Colorado Buffaloes Charlotte Whittaker (2019) recorded 8 points and 3 rebounds in a 61-48 win over the University of Oregon. 

Harry Weston (2023) showed out against Manchester University, scoring a college career-high 12 points on 3/6 shooting.

Lauryn Hippolite (2018), Esra McGoldrick (2018), Zoe Richards (2016) and Lauren Whittaker (2024) have been named to the Tall Ferns squad for the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers. The team will play against China, Puerto Rico and France from February 8th to February 11th. 

Taylor Britt (2015), Max Darling (2018), Walter Brown (2021) and Sam Timmins (2016) have been selected to the Tall Blacks team for the first window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. They will face Chinese Taipei on February 22nd, before returning to home soil to play Hong Kong on February 25th.

Esra McGoldrick (2018) went for a WNBL career-high 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks against the Southside Flyers. 

Coming off a season abroad in the Serbian KLS, Joe Cook-Green (2016) is returning to the Australian NBL1 for 2024, having signed a new deal with the Perth Redbacks of the NBL1 West. 

Karereatua Williams (2023), Lauren Whittaker (2024) and Maddie Morrow (2023).

Darcy Knox (2015) has re-signed with the Otago Nuggets. Darcy averaged 3.1 points per game with the Nuggets in 2023, shooting a career-high 42.9% on three pointers. 

Sticking with NZNBL news, Taylor Britt (2015) re-signed with the Canterbury Rams. 2023 saw Taylor record averages of 9.5 points per game and 4.0 assists per game. 

Richie Rodger (2016) had his best game yet in the Philippine Basketball Association, scoring 14 points against the Converge Fiber Xers.
